Recognising that Composition is far more than applied music theory, having studied it at degree and postgraduate level. Mark mainly teaches composition to supplement work for GCSE and A level Music as it forms a major part of both curricula. Together with the pupil, Mark explores a variety of compositional techniques together with the way they are used by different composers. This is used as the foundation for developing the pupils own compositional voice.
